Heart-Protecting Component of Olive Oil Discovered

University of Porto, Portugal.
Scientists have discovered the polyphenol in
extra virgin olive oil that gives greatest protection from
heart attack and stroke. DHPEA-EDA is the main
antioxidant in olive oil that protects red blood cells from damage.
